Iguanas in the Park! Like a ZOO??? Or...

Nope. Not like a Zoo!
We got to Guayaquil today and our hotel room looks over the Plaza de Iguanas, the Cathedral and the Guayas River.
When the city wasn't as b8g as it is now, back in 1870, the Iguanas already lived here.
The town grew and grew and it was decided that the Iguanas should stay where they are. So the town eventually expanded around the Iguanas… Now protected from trafficby this park
